We usually focus on a successful leader is how to act, but often we overlook their thinking process. Leader in its operations are less likely to show their way of thinking, and by reading some books about successful leader, nor is it possible to understand that the leader's way of thinking. Therefore, we need to focus on in the minds of leaders, particular attention from several conflicting views on the process of making choices.
Adoption of integrated thinking and decision-making in four steps
Outstanding business leaders of real features, is neither a superb strategy, not perfect, but an integrated thinking – "either/or" choice, use two opposing viewpoints between to find a better, more creative solutions.
Then, consolidation of thinking what a process? those able to consolidate thinking person is how the two conflicting views of sublimation is one of the more innovative ideas? in General, they go through the following four steps to complete. Although the four steps is not a consolidated thinking that are unique to each person to make decisions by thinking, when going through these four steps, however, distinguish between integrated thinking and traditional way of thinking is that each step in the consideration process focus and methodology.
Step 1: grip problems in focus
The first step is to find out in the decision making, the factors to consider. In order to reduce complexity, traditional practices, lay down some think is useless, or even start to consider certain factors. However, we may make some of the key factors to ignore it. In each Department in your organization, consider the problem of time, often only from the perspective of the sector. For example, the financial sector is often considered the problem of time ignores the existence of emotional factors; organizations considering employee behavior issues, it may ignore the organizations of their own problems. This is because the organization most divisions are highly specialized, has its own narrow perspective; and competent in order to pursue the enterprise, forcing employees to limit the scope to consider issues that took into account the results of the employee is only part of the problem, but ignores the others should be aware of the relevant factors.
But when the decision has had for the moment, we have often regretted omit some should be of concern. We will say to yourself "is a new store location, I should take into account the situation of the road" or "employees sent abroad, I should be considering he's adaptive capacity and health".
Integrated thinking of looking for factors that influence the decision, will take the initiative to look for is not very obvious, but with decision related critical factors of potential. Of course, the more no clue problem, key factor will be more, however, as long as we can discover more of the relevant factors, the more able to take a comprehensive look at the problem. Integrated thinking want complex, because the more complicated answer often exist in it, the more from many key factors in the integration of a solution.
Step 2: analysis of causality
Decision of the second step is to analyze the number of significant factors of relevance to each other. In the analysis of causality, the traditional way of thinking habits of people as a first step, take the narrow point of view, so they often take the simplest approach is to find out two things straight lines of the causal relationship between. Although the operation and management of many relationships generally linear relationship, however, the causal analysis of things, there are other tools you can use, but most managers will find it difficult to use those tools, and WinCE.
At work, we often scolded by superiors, accusing us of the simple issue and complicate. In fact, very often, we do not intentionally make things get complicated, just from all angles to show the real problem lies. While some leaders will tell you "keep your things on the list", so that one can be very complex causal relationships becomes due to reasons for the outcome of A B caused by linear relation, they overlooked a lot in the middle of important aspects.
